Be A Phlebotomist
Safely collecting blood samples for medical testing is the job of the phlebotomist. If you wish to enter this field, start your education with this basic course, taught by certified phlebotomists. Text and hands-on training shows you the appropriate sites and vessels for drawing blood from a vein or via skin puncture. You will also learn how to handle and transport the specimens for analysis. Patient and phlebotomist safety are emphasized, and the instruction adheres to all the appropriate NIOSH and CLSI standards.
