    By taking Medical Billing & Coding Level 1 and 2 you will prepare yourself to
    handle health  insurance claims and forms.  Introduction to the national diagnostic
    and procedural coding systems including:  ICD-9-CM, HCPCS system, CPT4 format, 
    CPT symbols and conventions, CPT index, reimbursement  issues, HPCA billing 
    directives, commercial insurance claims, modifications, file maintenance, case 
    organization, legal considerations.  Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, HMO's, PPO's
    and  Workmen's Compensation,  Medicare and  Medicaid.   A basic overview of external
    and internal billing procedures and collections.  Overview of computerized billing.  
    Certificate awarded.
    PREREQUISITE:  Completed a Medical Terminology class and have typing skills.
